At age twenty-four Ortiz began to share his talent with San Antonio, Tx by tattooing. He then graced Dallas with his gift working with the same media --- skin and ink. In 2006 he moved to Austin, Tx, where he continued creating art on the human body and eventually met Mitchell Espinoza.
A native to fun-loving Austin, Espinoza has acquired an extensive social and financial network. It was not long before the two entrepreneurs decided to collaborate on a project that would allow fans of Ortiz's style to wear his art in another way. In 2009 Graven Image became an active clothing line.
